Seven items
A station broadcasting twenty-four hours a day pays for: the software, the machine it runs on, a second place where music and clocks live if the first fails, the stream to the listener with enough capacity for the peak, the voices if there is AI presentation, the website and app where the listener arrives, and the hours someone needs to operate and watch all of it. An offer that names only the first item is not a price but a down payment.
The server is not a side issue
A shared server is cheaper until the moment another station on the same machine lets its hour run over. We put down a dedicated server per customer, with a nightly backup of the database and a weekly backup of the audio to a second location. That is in the package price. It is why a package for one station costs €1,950 a year with us and not €20 a month: there is a machine behind it that is yours alone.
Voices and stream
AI voices cost per spoken minute at the voice provider. A station with a link per song speaks a few hours a day; that is a real item, which is why we bill voice usage separately, at cost, instead of hiding it in the package price. Stream capacity depends on how many listeners are connected at once; we agree that on the basis of your figures.
Year or month
Our packages are priced per year because a station does not change systems monthly and because setup, from library to clocks and voices, is included with an annual contract. Monthly is possible too, at 25 percent more. The Station package is one station; Network is exactly two; from three it is Enterprise with a failover server, response times and quarterly reviews.
How to compare
Put the seven items of every offer side by side on an annual basis. Ask for each: is this included, and if not, what does it cost separately? Count the hours you or a volunteer spend on it, at a fair rate. Ask about the server: dedicated or shared, where is the backup, how fast is a station back after an outage. The cheapest licence is rarely the cheapest station.
